You’ve got to TOUCH to FEEL it!
People said I’ve been emo lately. Yeah-lah, life is not always a bliss rite? Sometimes up, sometimes down. But most importantly is how we pick ourselves up and stand on our own two feet again.
Come to think of it, that is the basis of life. Since our baby was born, we’ve been encouraging him to lift his head up. A couple of months later, we encouraged him to roll over, then crawl and then walk. When he starts walking, he’s bound to fall and bump himself. What matters most is not the fact that he fell, but how he gets up from the fall.
As mothers, we can’t restrict our kid too much. We need to let them explore, for only through the hands-on experience will they learn. What we can do however is, to guide them. To be there and hold their hand until they are ready to let go.
Most kids these days are very inquisitive. Their brain cells are very active and connected. I believe their food intake and exposure play a vital role in their upbringing. There are plentiful stimulator tools out there to stimulate our little one from birth.
Remember that Youtube video I shared recently? It made me realised how important brain cell connections are to growing kids. I discovered that one of the ways to maximise brain cell connections is through their diet. That was when I stumbled upon Anmum Essential and the microsite Connected Tots. Hehe.. if only-lah my brain cells were much more connected when I was younger, boleh-lah I be a real lawyer instead of loyar buruk-ing on FB and Twitter! :P
Don’t click on the above picture, it’s just a print screen of the actual microsite!
I clicked on “Mum’s Role” and was furnished with lots of great tips on how to stimulate brain cell connections and creating an engaging learning environment! It hit me right in the head when I read about letting the child wander around, touch and experience the things he sees in a park as when Ethan was younger, I takut to let him touch things fearing that they might be dirty and all. Now I know that a child learns quicker by interacting with the real thing! Now I go.. “touch-lah Ethan, touch touch!” Hehe.. Tengok-tengok the Daddy pulaks yang enjoying the touch to feel concept! o.O
There is also Stories page where I can click on a book and read it with Ethan!
He even requested me to substitute Simon with Ethan in the story “Simon Learns Quick!” So I had to read, “Ethan is a little boy..”
But what is most interesting (for Ethan) has got to be the Games page. He simply loves it! Watch this video on him playing the games..
I have also requested sampling for Anmum Essential as I’m totally amazed at what I’ve learnt!
My boy is growing..
He often wonders what lies beyond..
He has his own clique..
They’ll start exploring and learn new things together…
As long as I’m sure that I’ve provided the very best foundation for him, I’m confident he will be able to face the world and think out of the box! To get your very own sampling of Anmum Essential, click here.
Now now… let’s go jalan-jalan and look for cengkerik or anything, catch it and touch it! Jangan sampai that fella masuk your mouth and be your dinner sudah! :P
dnt la emo thr, prefer u loyar-buruk in fb n twitter! mwahahaha!!!
Ethan so guai, sure will grow up n manage to explore and face this world one. :D
yeah..i find that kids are much more pandai nowadays! My daughter always love to explore (and that's why she love to watch Dora) until we cannot keep one eye on her..sigh…
LOL! it's actually me that need to get more connected, muahaha! Old liao… getting more absent minded and always hvg thought blocked!>_<
kids nowadays are more daring, and smarter. is the parents who aren't willing to let them touch to feel it, fearing germs lah, dirty la, tis la tat lah, im one of them -.-
Ethan will grow up to be a fine young man one day.
He will grow up to be a creative young man just like his mama. :D
better cherish the time as by the time ethan grows up, just gonna reminisce and smile.. =)actually ethan is surprisingly a good kid..i've seen a lot of kids as my mom used to babysit them and was a kindergarten teacher…there are several damn horrible k? i remember there was a kid who question who am i and like halau me out…from MY OWN hse.. =____=although am not a parent yet, but i agree must let kids to explore for them to learn n grow..coz i myself been through that..not as a kid though.. =Pdun emo la!! ethan got ang moh girlfriend then u emo? hehe =P
Lovely post! I love it! Yes…bonding! That's the most important between parent and child…and from there, the love will grow stronger every day.
eh eh..how come i see hidden msg?? ehehheheh
Hmm, let the kids explore and learn themselves. Sometimes being a parent, susah. We got to protect our kids and hence restrict their learning abilities etc. Got to compromise along the way.
Ethan is growing and learning very well. You did a very good job.
Dont emo too much there! =)
WOW! For STP to say he loves my post is an honour! *wipe tears* Thank you Arthur! :DRachel – Hehehe… u clever.. can read between the lines :P
