Snowflake indulgence
I work at The Strands twice a week from morning till noon. The time I leave my working place is usually the hottest being midday. Thank goodness there is this Taiwanese dessert house nearby called Snowflake. From the first time I stepped foot in there, I was hooked. I am now addicted to their ice dessert that I must have my fix at least twice a week!
It’s self-service and you can always tell if a person is a virgin to Snowflake or not. The first timers will always stare at the menu for ages with mouth wide open and a complete blank look! It did seem very confusing on my very first night there
But to keep it simple, let’s focus on the Snowflake series first. I won’t be touching on the Toshua, Memorable, Original series and Frozzies today. After all, we are all about Snowflake right?
Step 1:
There are 3 series to choose from: Grass Jelly Series, Taroballs Series and my favourite Soya Ice Series.
Step 2:
Choose one of the 5 sets of toppings and pay.
You’ll then be given a ‘UFO’.
The UFO will vibrate and blink once your order is ready; an indication that you should go and collect your order from the counter. Alien rules @ Snowflake!
It is Ethan’s favourite moment in Snowflake. He looks forward for it to vibrate each time we are there
According to them their bestseller is the Grass Jelly Ice with Taroballs, so we just had to try it!
Grass Jelly Ice + Grass Jelly + Taro Balls + Creamer (RM6.90)
The creamer to go with the Grass Jelly Ice
The portion served was huge but I wasn’t impressed with my bowl of the above. If that is their bestseller than I must say I’m disappointed. BUT……… luckily Darling ordered the Soya Ice Series!
Soya Ice Series with Set 5 Toppings = Grass Jelly + Kidney Bean + Black Glutinous Rice + Pearl (RM6.50)
Woo hoo! I’m sold! The soya ice gives it a fragrant aroma and sweet taste! This is what I’m looking for! I love the chewy pearls too! I just can’t use enough exclamation marks here!!! LoL!
Soya Ice Series with Red Bean + Pearl and Taro (RM6.50)
Soya Ice Series with Set 1 Toppings = Grass Jelly + Green Bean + Lotus Seed + Pearl (RM6.50)
The combination of green bean, grass jelly and soya will definitely cool you down on the hottest day possible! We simply love all our Soya Ice Series that we sound kinda biased each time people asked us about Snowflake. We will just recommend them the Soya Ice Series!
The thing is, when it comes to food, it is very subjective. You might not like what I like and vice versa. I did not like their bestseller but I love their Soya Ice Series and has been coming back for more!
One thing though, we kept on forgetting to bring along our Dessert Loving Club card. With this card we can get 1 stamp for every dessert purchased. We have several cards at home now as we kept getting new cards! I wonder if I can just bring all and redeem any 1 free menu item!

Yes I LOVE the soya ice series too! It's my default order, but then I also love the Taro balls that only come as an additional topping! So I always had to order soya ice series and top up for the taro balls. How I wish they have taro balls in one of their 5 topping sets!

There's a snowflakes outlet in Subang too, always no chance to try. I should make an extra effort to go now
