My Pai Ti Kong journey

Since I got married to Darling it is a MUST to return to his hometown on the eighth night of Chinese New Year so we can pray cum midnight for the ninth day of Chinese New Year aka worshiping the Jade Emperor aka Pai Ti Kong. Did I get that right?
Anyway, just like previous years we went back to Seremban last night after my last class. We arrived around 11.30pm and Ethan was already asleep in the car then. Darling carried him upstairs and he continued sleeping. I did not help out with the preparation of the prayers as we arrived very late. OK, so that was just an excuse. I’m the worst Daughter In Law in the world! I don’t help out.. period! *May I be a better daughter-in-law next year :D*
So Ethan was asleep upstairs while they got ready to pray. I got hungry but I chose to ignore it. I tweeted instead. I read on FB and Twitter that everywhere was like a war zone with fire crackers and fireworks going off every minute and polluting the air. But it was eerily quiet on our side unlike the eve of Chinese New Year when Ethan slept thru those loud exploding fire crackers!
Anyway, cut story short. After their prayers, Darling brought an AngKoo Kuih for me! Yeay! I was really hungry as it was already 1am then! So apa lagi? I gasak that kuih and surprisingly, it was delicious! Hehe.. I remembered eating those previous years and not like it! Hmm.. must be I was happy last night! Haha.. :P I even had another at 1.30am!
I continued tweeting and FB-ing and finally slept at 3am…
The next day (that is today) we woke up and went back home to where my heart is – PJ! :D

It was raining and the first thing Darling did was..
Hung up the fire-crackers..
Lit it up..
Bang bang boom!
Bom Bom Bom!
The red cloth at the end of the crackers..
The aftermath..
Now you see, Darling lit the crackers while I took pictures. Where was Ethan? He sat at the door watching everything unamused until the crackers started exploding! Still… he was unamused! o.O Darling carried him and he said, “So loud-lah Daddy!” And that was it.. haha.. No koala bear or anything!
SO that was my Pai Ti Kong journey. I don’t recall much about the prayers but I remembered clearly the AngKoo kuih! Sedap!
