Spring Festival Celebration @ Grand Dorsett Subang

The Lunar New Year or Spring Festival this year falls on 3rd February 2011. While most of you are busy spring cleaning and making CNY decor, I get to indulge in auspicious dishes featuring the season’s best offerings available on the special Lunar New Year a-la-carte menu, Set Menus or buffet spread at Grand Dorsett Subang :D
To usher in the auspicious dawning of The Year of the Rabbit, Grand Dorsett Subang has lined up a splendid repertoire of fabulous fare!

The Lunar New Year celebration would not be complete without the traditional toss of prosperity :D
We had Four Seasons Prosperity “Yee Sang”. Look at the generous amount of Butter Fish, Salmon, Tuna and Jelly Fish
(Regular – RM48 / Medium – RM72 / Large – RM120)
We ‘Lou Hei’ to a year filled with wealth, health and prosperity :D Nice right? Ethan’s favourite has got to be the jelly fish! He kept asking for more!
Look at my plate! I’ve never had such generous amount of fish in my Yee Sang before :D
Up next was the Stir Fried Shrimps with Water Chestnuts
(Regular – RM36 / Medium – RM54 / Large – RM90)
The fresh shrimps just pops in my mouth! Ooo la la!
Then we had Stewed Supreme Dried Seafood Platter
(Regular – RM400 / Medium – RM600 / Large – RM1000)
This dish is Ethan’s favourite! He loves the mushroom, baby corn, broccoli and as for me, I simply love all those and the dried seafood too!
Next dish was Stewed Dried Oyster with Black Moss and Lettuce
(Regular – RM70 / Medium – RM105 / Large – RM175)
An auspicious dish indeed. Dried oyster sounded like 好事 (good deeds; returns) and the moss sounded like 发财 (get rich) in Mandarin. Together it will be 好事发财, lots of good returns and fortune! This dish deserves my two thumbs up :D
And just when I thought I’ve tasted the best of the best, Chef’s Special Baked Cod Fish made its appearance! Served at their standard serving size of 100g per cut, they really saved the BEST for last! I cut into the crispy skin exposing the moist fillet inside, took a bite of it… it’s ecstasy!  Two thumbs and 8 fingers up for this dish! Totally recommended! (RM34 per 100g)
We ended our meal with the fragrant and yummy Deep-Fried Chinese New Year Cake and Deep-Fried Chinese New Year Cake with Durian Thousand Layer Cake.
