Hop In to an Auspicious Rabbit Year @ Parkroyal Kuala Lumpur

This Lunar New Year, celebrate the gathering of family and friends at Si Chuan Dou Hua with a line up of specially prepared set menus and prosperity Yee Sang for lunch and dinner to welcome in the Year of the Rabbit.
Based on the Chinese zodiac, the rabbit’s characteristics are believed to be articulate, talented and ambitious. People born in the Year of the Rabbit are admired, trusted and are often financially lucky. So what are you waiting for? Go make a baby rabbit today! wink! wink!
I was privileged to get the opportunity to dine at Si Chuan Dou Hua Restaurant, Parkroyal Kuala Lumpur recently for their Chinese New Year dinner review.
The interior of Si Chuan Dou Hua
We were served the restaurant’s signature eight treasure tea. It looks beautiful isn’t it? It tasted equally nice :D
To mark the beginning of a prosperous New Year, it is a must to toss Yee Sang and their signature Tropical Fruits Yee Sang was just marvellous! Delicately prepared and served with specially concocted sauce which includes selections of Sour Plum Sauce enhanced with Fruit Flavour, Spicy Plum Sauce with Mango or  you may just opt for the traditional Sour Plum Sauce.
I love strawberry (and kiwi too) so you can tell how much I love this plate of Yee Sang!
Up next was the Braised Shark’s Fin with Fish Maw and Crab Roe in Superior Stock. Served piping hot, the thick broth was very tasty and simply delicious!
Yummylicious!
The steamed chicken with garlic and preserved chilli was pow-wow! With just the right amount of spicyness, this dish definitely goes well with steamed white rice.
Another spicy dish Steamed Sea Garoupa with Spicy Mixed Chilli Paste. The fish is steamed to perfection and is very tender and moist. I can have a large portion of this you know? Spicy dishes are my favourite! :D
I think I am not wrong if I say the Wok-fried Prawns with Golden Crispy Oat was the best oat prawns I’ve ever tasted! We had to be very careful as the prawns were served really hot! It looked crispy and tempting and all I wanted to do was to sink my teeth into them but thank goodness we were warned by Taufulou that it was still very HOT inside!
The dish that every Chinese New Year meal can’t do without – Braised Brocolli and Dried Oysters with Dried Scallops on Steamed Egg White. I loved the fact that they served this dish on steamed egg white! Marvellous! Finally something Ethan can truly enjoy! LoL! He had lots and lots of this!
We had Fried Rice with Baby Abalone too. The slices of baby abalone gave this fried rice that extra oomph and I had multiple servings of this! Well.. Ethan loves it ok? :P
The fried glutinous rice cake on crispy lotus root was nice.

We ended our meal with a truly unique and way delicious Tau Fu Fah! Smooth and fine, served with brown sugar and kei chee! It was my first time eating Tau Fu Fah served that way but I tell you, it was something! It was heaven sent!
Just look at Ethan enjoying his Tau Fu Fah! Look at his thumb and you’ll know how good it was!!!
The ‘Chinese New Year’ set priced at RM568++ for 4 people and RM788++ for 6 people. For group of 10 people, the ‘Prosperity’, ‘Fortune’ and ‘Wealth’ sets priced from RM988++ onwards. They also offer Vegetarian Set Menu at RM898++ per table of 10 people.
