Lantern Festival Celebration by the Business Association of Bandar Pinggiran Subang
The Mid-Autumn Festival falls on Wednesday but the folks of Bandar Pinggiran Subang celebrate it today, Friday (24/9/2010). This annual event is made possible by the participating members of the Business Association of Bandar Pinggiran Subang.
I just love the soft glow of a lantern. I prefer the old fashion lantern anytime to those modern battery operated type with loud music! Whose blog entry was it that I read recently saying that she got a lantern with Hindi music??!! LOL…
It is an annual event and this is our third year participating
Folks of all walks of life will gather at the field where the Pasar Malam is held every Saturdays. This is our once a year chance to totally meet the whole community as there is no other event being celebrated bigger than this in Subang 2.
Mooncakes for all
Gift pack by Bakers Ville Cafe. My Studio is located just a row behind BV Cafe
Wonder what is inside?
Yummy-licious MUFFINS! I gobbled up the one on the left as soon as we arrived home
In case anyone got too excited, there’s a couple of Ambulance on standby ready to rush you to the hospital for mooncake overdose
Eh, Mr. Mouse … are you in any way related to that famous Mickey? I saw a Minnie lookalike too
Clowns as usual, trying to elongated their balloons…
Ethan pulling one of the lanterns! There are clues hung on each lantern that will help you to solve some kinda riddles. Obviously I did not even make an attempt to read as they are all written in CHINESE!
Wow.. some very HIGH bar stools!
He he.. Apparently the Lion Dance thought that those are walk ways and performed some very tricky moves up there!
The Lions and Dragon even paid a visit to each business premises who have registered with the Association to pray and give luck
A Lion being a victim of modernization – being caught in between automobiles
It was a carnival. The Lions and Dragon danced on the street.
Parading around Subang 2. I realised that I did not take many pictures of the Lions as I see Lion Dance every year during Chinese New Year at home. What I don’t get to see often though is the Dragon… hence the plentiful pictures of the Dragon
The celebration ended with a spectacular display of fireworks. I did not snap any pictures of the fireworks as for ONCE, I like to enjoy it live with my very own eyes instead of through the lens of my camera. It was nice just standing there with Darling and Ethan by my side watching the beautiful bursts of lights. Just wonderful..
At the end of the day, Ethan went home a happy boy as he received a cute Mickey and Minnie ruler from Mr. Mouse
Looking forward to next year’s Mid-Autumn celebration already
