Why I did not OPEN my house for CNY

Before Chinese New Year, many of my blogger friends hinted to me that I should do something during CNY and they’d be happy to drop by. They WANTED to drop by. But I’m so sorry folks, I was ‘suddenly‘ caught up with several issues that made my life upside down; hence the disability to prepare my home nicely for the festival. I did not even manage to shop for new clothes, Ethan and Darling got theirs though. Never mind… I managed to get mine at the eleventh hour after all.
Back to topic. My mother will definitely faint if she sees the way I keep the tidbits. I don’t even have a proper jar to store them. I love my mother’s beautiful cookie jars but I have nothing over here. I did not even buy any cookies to be served. Several years ago, I did some baking. These days, I don’t. Just look what I have in store should there be any guests to my place..
Bipang – Courtesy of my mother
Nga Ku – Not Mamarazzi’s but SS2 Pasar Malam punya. Mamarazzi’s long gone into my stomach dy..
Heong Peah – Courtesy of Fairy. But then again, I might not serve this to you guys because I want it all for myself :P
If I’m in a good mood, I might share with you the pineapple tarts. But knowing me, I might not :P I’m such a pineapple tart fan I don’t want to share! But I still prefer the original nyonya style tarts..

Darling bought this. I don’t really like. I prefer the traditional ‘love letters’, rolled and not folded. If you write your love letters that traditional way, you can send it to me anytime :P
Go to any mommy blogger’s house this year and you’ll be sure to be serve this – C2! :D
I’m not that bad~lah. Still got soya milk..
Or if you think of doing the twist, I got some Twister for you too..
What is Chinese New Year without the oranges? The main culprit for my endless cough..
Then again, all of the above won’t last long as I’ve this little fella who has been ransacking the table and eating bits and bits of it until very soon, nothing is left!

So that is why folks, I did not OPEN my house this Chinese New Year…

I just welcomed anybody who bothered to drop by – didn't manage to clean the house, cook nice dishes to serve…nothing! Just served drinks…and they could help to whatever was on the coffee table.I guess it's the company that matters most – the interaction, strengthening of relationships… This year, you do not get to meet, next year – they would not come anymore…and they get fewer and fewer…and in the end, no friends left.

  • //

Hey, I am like you – I love pineapple tarts!!! I sure as hell won't be serving them to guests unless I have lots of extra ones, haha! I also prefer the pineapple tarts instead of the rolls. And I love nga ku! Yummy! I can write you love letters – price: RM10 per love letter. LOL!!
