Salmon gone to waste

Every week, when we do our grocery shopping, I’ll head for the vege section and Darling and Ethan will do the fish and chicken section. Last Saturday, I thought I heard Darling said that the chicken is not too fresh so he did not buy any. And stupidly I assume that he did not buy the salmon fillets as well. Do not know what makes me assume that.
So when we got home, being tired and all, took all the groceries and just dump it into the refrigerator.
Today, 3 days later, my fridge started to smell funny. Curious at what was causing the smell, I had to take out everything and check each and every item to see what went bad. To my surprise.. I saw the salmon fillets there! OMG! A week’s supply all gone to waste!
Needless to say, Darling was a bit annoyed. But what I can do? Come to think of it, it has been a routine for Darling to buy chicken and salmon (for Ethan) week in, week out. What was I thinking that makes me assume he did not buy the salmon this time around? I dunno….
